The Certificate Course for Integrated Yoga Teachers (CCIYT) is designed for fitness, exercise, and sports professionals who wish to adopt a more holistic approach to health, fitness, and well-being.

True fitness is more than strong muscles. It includes physical health, mental balance, emotional well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. Health and fitness are not static; they improve or decline according to the principle of use and disuse. Every individual is different, and exercise programmes should be designed according to a person’s age, gender, occupation, goals, abilities, and limitations.
Yoga offers a complete system for developing and maintaining health. It helps improve posture, spinal health, breathing, concentration, relaxation, and overall quality of life. For this reason, personal trainers and fitness professionals can greatly benefit from incorporating yogic practices into their clients’ training programmes.
The course has been specially designed for GĀYO Fitness Academy by the renowned Yoga teacher, scholar, researcher, and author Dr Manmath Gharote, Director of Lonavla Yoga Institute (India).

Traditional Yoga Foundation
The Certificate Course for Integrated Yoga Teachers (CCIYT) is currently undergoing the process for accreditation as a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 programme.
The course is jointly delivered by GĀYO Fitness Academy and the internationally respected Lonavla Yoga Institute (India) – LYI(I). The programme has been specially designed by the renowned Yoga teacher, scholar, researcher, and author Dr Manmath Gharote, Director of LYI(I), whose work has influenced Yoga education worldwide. The curriculum is based on Dr Gharote’s extensive research and lifelong contribution to the study and teaching of traditional Yoga. It draws upon the timeless wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Sage Sundardeva’s Hathatatvakaumudi, while remaining relevant to the needs of today’s fitness and wellness professionals.
Unlike programmes that focus primarily on physical postures (asanas), the CCIYT adopts a comprehensive approach to Yoga through the principles of Ashtanga Yoga, covering all eight limbs of Yoga practice. Students gain an understanding of Yoga as a complete system for physical health, mental discipline, emotional balance, ethical living, self-development, and spiritual growth.
The teachings are rooted in authentic Yoga traditions and supported by the study of ancient Yoga manuscripts sourced and researched from around the world. This commitment to traditional knowledge helps preserve the depth, integrity, and true purpose of Yoga while making it accessible to modern practitioners and teachers.
Through this unique blend of traditional wisdom and contemporary application, the CCIYT prepares fitness professionals, Yoga enthusiasts, and aspiring teachers to deliver authentic, holistic Yoga programmes with confidence and competence.
Upon successful completion of the Certificate Course for Integrated Yoga Teachers (CCIYT), students will have developed the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to integrate traditional Yoga into modern fitness, health, and wellness programmes.

Graduates will be able to:
Understand the principles of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and biomechanics as they relate to Yoga practice and teaching.
Demonstrate knowledge of the history, philosophy, principles, and evolution of Yoga from traditional to contemporary applications.
Practise and teach a wide range of Yoga postures (asanas) safely and effectively, including appropriate modifications and adjustments for different abilities and needs.
Understand the major traditional schools of Yoga and their relevance to modern health, fitness, and lifestyle management.
Teach and apply techniques related to asanas, pranayama (breathing practices), kriyas (cleansing practices), relaxation, concentration, and meditation.
Design, plan, and sequence safe, effective, and enjoyable Yoga sessions for individuals and groups with diverse goals and abilities.
Apply professional teaching methodologies, including effective communication, observation, cueing, feedback, and correction techniques.
Promote a holistic approach to health and wellness that integrates physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle factors.
Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviour expected of a Yoga teacher and wellness practitioner.
Progress confidently to advanced Yoga teacher education and specialist Yoga training programmes offered by the Academy.
Career and Professional Benefits
By achieving these learning outcomes, fitness professionals can broaden their expertise, expand their service offerings, and provide clients with a more comprehensive approach to health, fitness, movement, stress management, and overall well-being.
The programme helps personal trainers evolve into holistic health and lifestyle professionals capable of addressing both physical and mental wellness through the principles and practices of traditional Yoga.
