EXERCISE & SPORTS INJURIES: Rehab & Prehab

Fitness and sports professionals will receive 12 hours of intensive training in injury rehabilitation and prevention of future occurrences.

Dates:

  • Start: May 24
  • End: May 25
  • Both days: from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

Venue:

BPCA’s College of Physical Education – Bharatiya Kreeda Mandir, Naigaum Cross Road, Wadala, Mumbai – 400031

The clinic will lead to the following outcomes for the participants.

  • Theory
    • Understand the anatomy of the joints
    • Causes of injuries
    • Introduction to the principles of assessment, management and rehabilitation,
    • Introduction to bandaging and taping
    • Introduction to rehab exercises
  • Practical training
    • Identify and analyse injury
    • Initiate basic management of the injuries, post-First Aid
    • Recommend basic rehab and prehab exercises in consultation with the physiotherapist

By the end of the program, the attendees ought to be able to –

  • ASSESS + MANAGE + SAFELY TRANSITION injured clients after rendering first aid to physiotherapists.
  • Enable fitness professionals to work with physiotherapists and medical doctors
  • Increase awareness of safety and preventative aspects of training.

It is essential that the attendees have a thorough grounding in exercise physiology, kinesiology and exercise sciences.  They are expected to hold a Level 3 or 4 personal training certification and / or a graduate or post-graduate degree as applicable.

  • Access to videos – complimentary access for only TWO months from and after the END date of the clinic; thereafter, the participant will pay ₹500 + 18%GST as fee for one year’s subscription
  • De MeenakshiShe is one of India’s most experienced sports physiotherapists with long, extensive experience with India’s international boxers and wrestlers (who have excelled at the world and international levels).Her credentials include –
    • Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy in Sports
    • Assistant Professorship in a reputed Physiotherapy College in India.
    • Has over 11 years of experience in sports and exercise injuries management at the national and international levels; she has been consultant to the Sports Authority of India for several years.
    • Recently completed her Focus Awards Level 3 Education and Training certification course.
