Blended Course in INTEGRATED YOGA for Fitness Professionals – MUMBAI

Yoga is a science which is 5,000 years old. It has nothing to do with any religion.

Yoga is scientifically proven to offer a range of physical and mental benefits, supported by research from institutions like the National Institutes of Health. Studies have shown it improves flexibility, strength, and balance, reduces stress and anxiety, improves sleep quality, and can help manage chronic pain. It is also used as a complementary therapy for conditions like depression, hypertension, and diabetes

Our online course will introduce to the fitness professional wanting to dive deeper into Yoga –

Upon approval for Yoga Alliance USA RYT200, the student will have to pay additional fee for obtaining the revised certificate.

This blended course is based on the syllabus designed by globally respected Dr Manmath Gharote ji, founder and director of the Lonavala Yoga Institute (India). A research scholar internationally acclaimed, his analytical book on HATHTATVAKAUMUDI is one of the many books he has authored. In the image, he is seen displaying ancient manuscripts which form the basis of his teaching.

It offers course credits to the advanced Integrated Yoga Teacher course which will soon be aligned with Yoga Alliance India standards.

The important potential learning outcomes for fitness professionals, from our online course, include:

  • Appropriate understanding of Physiology and Kinesiology as applied in Yoga
  • Knowledge of yoga’s history, principles, and philosophies.
  • Ability to practice and teach various yoga postures, including modifications and adjustments
  • Understanding of the traditional schools of Yoga and the current-day practices
  • Understanding and teaching various techniques for Yogasanas, breathing, cleansing and meditation.
  • Ability to plan and sequence yoga classes for diverse clients.
  • Teaching Methodology: Effective communication, observation, and correction techniques.
  • Enable the student to progress to our advanced Integrated YOGA Teacher course

By achieving these learning outcomes, personal trainers can enhance their skills, expand their knowledge, and offer a more holistic approach to fitness and wellness.

Students wanting to enrol must –

  • Have passed 12 years of School Education
  • Be physically and medically fit*
  • Have a passion for physical movement
  • BEFORE FINAL EXAMINATION, must attend and be certified in First Aid & CPR with AED
  • Course delivery will be in ENGLISH and, to the extent possible,  Hindi / Marathi / Malayalam / other state language to the

Poonam B Wankhede

A professionally trained and qualified Yoga Teacher with intensive experience in teaching Yoga and mindful movement, Poonam – who prefers to be called “Moon” – is an expert in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa and Power Yoga in addition to her training and in Pilates, Flexibility and Mobility training.

A passionate teacher, she integrates breath awareness, precision, alignment, and mindful movement to enhance both physical performance and body awareness. She works with beginners as well as intermediate practitioners, helping them build strength, improve mobility, and create a balanced, sustainable lifestyle.

Her goal is to deliver safe, effective, and transformative sessions that support long-term physical health and mental well-being.

Practical Home Study Assignment. Maximum marks 100

Theory Exam 100 Multiple Choice Questions. Maximum marks 100

The subjects covered are: Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Principles of Yogic Practices and Practical Demonstration and Reaching of Yogasanas.

Online Practice Assessment. Maximum marks 200

Each student will randomly pick FOUR Yogasanas from a list of 25 exercises and:

  • Introduce himself / herself
  • introduce the Yogasana
  • demonstrate the Yogasana
  • teach it to the “client” according to Ashtanga principles
  • training cues – check for safety, breathing etc
  • “Close” the Yoga session.

Viva Voce. Maximum marks 100. Oral questions will be asked about the Yogasanas taught, related kinesiology and Yogic principles.

TOTAL Marks – 500

 TO COMPLETE THE COURSE SUCCESSFULLY, THE STUDENT MUST ACHIEVE AT LEAST 50% OF THE TOTAL AVAILABLE 500 MARKS

Joint certification by GĀYO Fitness Academy and Lonavla Yoga Institute (India)

The certificate is valid permanently.

The student is expected to earn 10 CEUs in Yoga, and / or Exercise and Sports Sciences every year from the date of certification.
