MOBILITY for HIGH PERFORMANCE Stretching for Flexibility, Mobility & Power – THRISSUR

This is a 15-hours BLENDED clinic: 3 hours online and 12 hours in-person. It will help you master stretching for flexibility, movement and speed – all of which, together, result in power.

The clinic aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of stretching and mobility techniques to improve flexibility, range of motion, and overall physical performance. Participants will learn various stretching techniques, including static, dynamic, PNF, and AIS, and will gain hands-on experience in applying these techniques.

Mobility plays a crucial role in high-performance sports by enabling athletes to move efficiently, effectively, and safely. Here are some ways mobility helps:

  • Increased Range of Motion: Mobility allows athletes to move through a greater range of motion, generating more power, speed, and flexibility.
  • Improved Power and Speed: Good mobility enables athletes to explosively accelerate, decelerate, and change direction quickly.
  • Enhanced Agility: Mobility helps athletes to quickly change direction, speed, and movement pattern, making them more agile and responsive.
  • Injury Prevention: Mobility helps to reduce the risk of injury by allowing athletes to move more efficiently and effectively, reducing the stress and impact on joints and muscles.
  • Better Movement Patterns: Mobility helps athletes to maintain good movement patterns, reducing the risk of overuse injuries and improving overall performance.

In sports, mobility is essential for:

  • Quick changes of direction in sports like soccer, basketball, and tennis
  • Explosive movements in sports like sprinting, jumping, and throwing
  • Maintaining good posture and positioning in sports like golf, swimming, and cycling

By incorporating mobility training into their program, athletes can improve their performance, reduce their risk of injury, and gain a competitive edge.

Of course, Stretching, per se,  must not be confused with Yoga or Pilates.

  • Apply stretching for injury prevention and recovery: Attendees will understand how to use stretching to prevent injuries and aid in recovery.
  • Improve flexibility and mobility: Attendees will experience improvements in their own flexibility and mobility.

It is essential that the attendees have a thorough grounding in exercise physiology, kinesiology and exercise sciences.  They are expected to hold a Level 3 or 4 personal training certification and / or a graduate or post-graduate degree as applicable.
