Apart from flexibility and balance, fitness enthusiasts and sportsmen use Yoga to strengthen their bodies and minds to boost their athletic performance. Yoga can provide both physical and mental benefits, including increased strength and lung capacity on the physical side and enhanced mental concentration and wellbeing.

Sports Yoga is becoming increasingly popular. It adds to the competitive and professional skills of personal trainers. There is no doubt that today mental training is as important as physical training.

Conducted by GĀYO FITNESS ACADEMY, Kridasan is Module 2.05 of the Mumbai University Certificate Course for Personal Fitness Trainers (CCPFT).

Kridasan helps you understand the permutation and combination of Yoga poses that will help in specific sports like basketball, cricket, football, hockey, cycling, contact sports, racquet sports, track & field, volleyball and many, many others including triathlon, mountain climbing & trekking and horse riding.

This short specialist course is approved by International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) – USA for 7 CEUs.

Student Eligibility

Student –

  1. Must have passed 10 years of School Education
  2. Must be physically and medically fit
  3. Must have passion for fitness / sport
  4. Physically Challenged persons can apply if they have exposure to fitness / sport
  5. BEFORE FINAL EXAMINATION, must attend and be certified in First Aid & CPR with AED
  6. Course delivery is bilingual, however students ought to have working knowledge of English

Knowledge Delivery

Currently KRIDASAN is BEING OFFERED AS BLENDED COURSE – that is, it comprises:

  1. Online WEBINARS (face-to-face) supported with training videos
  2. GUIDED home study / practice
  3. Home ASSIGNMENTS
  4. IN-PERSON (face-to-face) education & training

Fee

If you are enrolling to only KRIDASAN course, fee is ₹3,000* including –

  • Gayo certificate,
  • eBOOK and
  • nearly 65 asanas, stretches and warm-up videos.

*FEE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. GST AS APPLICABLE. CHECK FEE PRIOR TO ENROLMENT.

 

Note: KRIDASAN fee is included in the CCPFT fee. These students do not pay additionally for KRIDASAN.

  • Theory: 25 MCQs that will cover the Science of Strength Training: Maximum marks: 50

KRI – Course Syllabus
Krida = Sport and Asanas = Yogasanas or Yoga poses. This short, specialist course helps fitness professionals to add value to their professional skill sets through the application of Yoga techniques for improving physical and mental performance in daily life as also on the sports field. Today, mental training is as or perhaps more important than physical training. This course explains the anatomy and physiology of Yogasanas. It also explains the permutation and combination of Yoga poses that will help improve performance in different sports. Kridasan enables the fitness professional to add value to his / her training of clients. Today, the personal trainer cannot train his clients in weight training alone – he / she has to offer more professional skills to clients! There are 16 types of Fitness Goals that can be achieved through the permutation and combination of eight training modalities. Kridasan is one of the exercise formats in the second of the eight – body weight training. This short course in Sports Yoga does not purport to be traditional Yoga as much as it seeks to offer certain Yoga poses that may improve mental and physical performance in certain sports. We believe that our short course in ManTra Exercise & Fitness Psychology and Kridasan will help the personal trainers and sports coaches to look after the mental training of their clients. Also, Kridasan will hopefully enable the student’s mind to the larger, traditional world of Yoga.

If you do only the Kridasan, you pay ₹3,000*. You do not have to pay this fee if you are enrolled to any of the full courses AND paid the fees for the University of Mumbai Certificate Course for Personal Fitness Trainers (CCPFT) syllabus. *FEE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. GST AS APPLICABLE. CHECK FEE PRIOR TO ENROLMENT.
This short course is one of the most complete course in Sports Yoga or Yoga for Sports & Performance in India. It is approved as an important part of the University of Mumbai Certificate Course for Personal Fitness Trainers (CCPFT) syllabus.
It is currently approved for 07 CEUs by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), USA. As we have said elsewhere, the fitness and sports professionals must look at the skill sets that a course provides. Certificates will follow knowledge and support the student’s ability to deliver it.

Not required but it is recommended that the certificate holder continue education in Sports Yoga by participating in workshops / courses which will add to his / her knowledge of Yoga.
